Clinical trials are research studies in human volunteers that are designed to provide data and information about the safety and/or efficacy of experimental drugs. Clinical trials are the safest and most effective way to find new treatments for improving people’s health. More information about clinical trials in the United States can be obtained by referring to the National Institutes of Health clinical trials website at www.clinicaltrials.gov.
AV650 is being developed in the North American market as a non-sedating treatment for disabling neuromuscular spasticity and spasm and is orally administered. Avigen has initiated a U.S. clinical Phase II trial in patients with spasticity following spinal cord injury (SCI).
